Let us find the best internal business ideas
Entrepreneurs are not necessarily people who start up their own businesses. Plenty of employees also have the right idea for the next big hit product in an existing company. Impact helps to realise that potential with its Man on the Moon concept.
The underlying theme of the concept is a competition among the employees to develop and present the best new business idea. Man on the Moon has been developed and tested by Danfoss A/S for several years.
The process departs from an inspiration and idea-generation phase based on the challenges faced by the company in coming years. Then, the competing teams are composed to develop their ideas over the next 3 or 4 months.
The participants are supported by a number of workshops where they get a chance to qualify, test and systematise the idea using tools such as Scenarios, Blue Strategic Exploration, Dynamic Learning Loops and principles for developing and presenting Business Models.
The proposals are presented to a jury composed of the company's senior management, and the winners get a substantial prize. Concrete measures will subsequently be taken to incorporate and realise the best ideas.
Within a specified timeframe, the Man on the Moon process may mobilise employee enthusiasm, give them an educational boost, develop specific and mature ideas and not least create a culture which encourages change and innovation.
