A creative and ambitious research centre

Founded in the spring of 2007 by the Universe Foundation, Universe Research Lab aims to collect, generate and present knowledge about learning processes, learning environments, creativity and innovative environments.

The research centre also aims to contribute to implementing the gathered knowledge in strategic development projects in the education system and the business community.

Therefore, the research centre also places its knowledge and working capacity at the disposal of stakeholders in the education system, the business community and the natural science experience park Danfoss Universe.

Universe Research Lab was established because research and professional practice are two sides of the same coin but often function separately.

Therefore, the research centre will ensure that the research-based knowledge is converted into professional practice and contributes to enhancing an understanding of the relationship between learning and creativity, learning and well-being, theory and practice, formal and informal learning environments and education and the business community.

Universe Research Lab is headed by Research Director Hans Henrik Knoop, who is also associate professor of educational psychology at the University of Aarhus / School of Education.

The centre initially works with four projects:

.      Education facilities of the future
.      Links between formal and informal learning in the future
.      Entrepreneurships of the future
.      Innovative environments of the future

Universe Research Lab is scientifically anchored in a strong international network of researchers from the University of Southern Denmark, University of Aarhus / School of Learning, Harvard University / Graduate School of Education, MIT / Sloan School of Management, Claremont Graduate University / Drucker School, University of Pennsylvania / Wharton School of Business, University of Copenhagen.

The work of the Universe Research Lab is supported by funding from Nordea Danmark Foundation, The Danish Ministry of Economic and Business Affairs, Bitten and Mads Clausen Foundation, University of Southern Denmark and University of Aarhus / School of Education.
