John Deere type 95 is the biggest tractor sold in Europe. It weighs 21.5 tons - which is the same as 25 regular cars.
The engine rates 507 HP, which makes it as powerful as that of a truck. The difference is that while a truck translates its power into speed, the tractor allocates all of its resources to approximately 8 km per hour.
Therefore, it can pull, for instance, a rake 20 m wide or a sowing drill 24 m wide - that is almost as wide as the ordinary swimming pool is long.
John Deere type 95 costs 1.85 million Danish kroner, and there is only one of them in Denmark. Danish fields are usually much too small to make the use of this kind of tractor worthwhile, therefore, they are generally more frequent in Hungary, Russia, Poland, Romania - or in the USA, where it is manufactured.
Even if it is a giant machine, the driver is very comfortable in his seat. The cabin is air-conditioned and has a fabulous stereo. The noise level is no higher than that of an ordinary car.
Most of the controls are brought together in one joystick. Even the seat is controlled by a computer. 200 times a second it scans to compensate for all kinds of vibrations.

The biggest tractor in the whole world is called Bug Bud 747. It was built in 1978, but is still operating on a gigantic farm in Montana, USA. Big Bud has a rating of approximately 750 HP and weighs 58 tons. It has eight tires, each being about 2.43 m high and 1 m wide. When using a 24 m wide plough, the farmer can plow more than 300 acres of land in one day's work.
