For the second year in a row, Danfoss Universe held the “Free Style Computing” competition, where children can send in their digital work. This year’s winners are found.
Websites, cms- systems, music videos, computer games, ringtones, robots, screen savers or manipulated pictures.
The kids could choose freely which digital tool to use, when we invited all under the age of 16 to be part of our Freestyle Computing Competition last spring.
It is the goal of the competition to create awareness of the different digital opportunities you have and to get people to work creatively with their computers – using as many different tools, techniques and programmes as possible. And we have to say that those youngsters know what they are doing. The competition is closed and we found our three winners.
The first prize winner is 14 year-old Mette Elsbjorg, who shows with the humoristic and well-communicated clip “Cola & Mentos” that you can find natural sciences everywhere in your every day life.
Second prize winner is 12 year-old William H. Brændstrup, who shows how well he can work with his tool in his entertaining animation “Kampen mod fluerne”.
Emil Madsen Bennedsen, 13 years old, got the third prize for his website, where he e.g. has his own blog.
The winning project got honoured with an Robosapien, V2, the second place with an e- dog and the third one won a daytrip to Danfoss Universe with his friends.
The platform for our Freestyle Computing Competition is this homepage, where you can see all the sent outcomes from last year in our online gallery and where soon new pieces of work will be send in for next year’s competition.
12 year-old Jonas made the picture ”Stærk” with Paint.
